Tim Myrick employs masterful techniques in transparent watercolor and dry-brush, to create paintings with unusual depth and detail. His has been described as a unique blend of talent and skill.  After more than 20 years managing graphic design projects in the corporate world, Tim now focuses his time on his painting, as well as graphic design and illustration projects. His subjects depict simple pleasures, a respect for nature and his ability to capture the warmth and character of ordinary people. He is currently working on a series of paintings of the Shaker Lakes and other areas in Northern Ohio, in addition to his body of work depicting Southern scenes.

Tim grew up in Northern Florida, amid tobacco farms and mule-drawn wagons, and has the stories to prove it. He describes himself as a story-teller in both art and prose. His goal is the marriage of visual art and prose to create an image that connects with the viewer and reader. An artist’s story – a frame-able written description of the inspiration for the painting is included with many of his paintings. He is currently working on a book – a collection of his art and writing, titled “How Sweet The South™”

He relocated to Cleveland, Ohio to attend the Cleveland Institute of Art. While he resides and works primarily in the Shaker Square area of Cleveland, he considers himself to have dual citizenship in both the greater Tallahassee, Florida and greater Cleveland, Ohio regions. His recent painting entitled “Coventry Street Depot” won an award in a prestigious international competition.  He is as proud of and loyal to the Cleveland area and the Cleveland Browns, as he is of his Southern heritage, saying “Southern is a state of mind.”
