Artist's Story

This dynamic original watercolor captures the sunlight and shadows of an autumn day on Doan Brook – a 15,000-year-old ‘bluestone’ brook that originated when the glaciers retreated – and which now feeds the Shaker Lakes. Tim’s mastery of watercolor is once again evident in this beautiful painting, which captures a moment in time that invites daydreaming – even on the coldest winter day.

Tim employs masterful techniques in transparent watercolor and dry-brush, to create paintings with unusual depth and detail. His subjects depict simple pleasures, respect for nature, and the ability to capture the unique warmth and character of people and their environments.
