When I first came upon this quiet scene, the soft light washing this old steel sink stopped me in my tracks. I snapped back to my childhood. The stains on the side tell a story of time much like the rings of a tree. Imagine the stories it could tell. I could almost see my mother standing at the old sink washing dishes, humming one of those timeless spirituals that said to all listeners: ‘It’s a good day’.
