Lady of the Rose is an intimate look into the center of one voluptuous rose in full bloom. As an artist and an avid gardener, I’m endlessly fascinated by the stunning beauty and complex designs of nature that are apparent when we look closely.
As I began to paint this rose, I was inspired by the sculptural beauty and lyrical interplay of the petals as they move around each other. They seem to dance around the core - choreographed by nature.
The ladybug immersed in the stamen seems to invite us to enjoy her sunny resting place with her.
It is this intimate connection with nature and the emotion it fuels that I hope viewers will experience when they see my painting. - Tim Myrick, artist
