Retired by Time

Artist's Story:

These scythes, now retired from decades of hard work in the fields, stand proudly against a weather-beaten shutter. So efficient were their cutting abilities that witnesses insist when in the hands of a skilled user, they could cut hay closer than many tractor powered mowers.

Here, the rusted blades display the scars of many seasons harvesting crops of wheat and hay. NOTE: Retired by Time was included in the 2011 Georgia Watercolor Society International Juried Exhibition. Since then, it has been included in a number of exhibits.

Each original is packaged for shipping according to size. In most cases. they are shipped flat, sandwiched between rigid panels, and sealed in a waterproof mailing envelope. If rolling is necessary, your artwork will be shipped in a high quality tube selected to protect it in transit.
