Coventry Street Depot – a landscape painting by Tim Myrick which “captures the luminous early-morning light” of the Coventry Street RTA station at Shaker Boulevard and Coventry Road in the Shaker Square area of Cleveland, was the recipient of the AMPERSAND AQUABORD AWARD in the North East Watercolor Society's 34th Annual International Juried Exhibition 2010. It was selected from among thousands of international submissions.
Artist's Story
I remembered the day the scene caught my eye. We lived across the street at the time, and often walked our dogs in the morning. On this particular morning, the light was so incredible, I told the dogs we were going to have to cut the walk short so I could run home and get my camera. I took a number of shots so I could remember the extraordinary luminosity of that morning scene and include it in my painting.
