Artist's Story
Some time ago, I created a series of small watercolors that I called "my little jewels".
This was the first of the series, and it still holds a warm place in my heart.
When I first came upon this quiet scene, the soft light washing this old steel sink stopped me in my tracks and my mind snapped back to my childhood. The stains on the side tell a story of time much like the rings of a tree. Imagine the stories it could tell. I could almost see my mother standing at the old sink washing dishes, humming one of those timeless spirituals that said to all listeners: ‘It’s a good day’.
